FM hopes Belgium to support Georgia's European integration

Ilia Darchiashvili, Georgian Foreign Minister met Hadja Lahbib, Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions, who arrived in Georgia within the framework of her South Caucasus tour.

According to the FM, the bilateral meeting focused on all the priorities defined by the two countries.

Ilia Darchiashvili stressed that the support of Belgium, which will take up the chairmanship of the European Council next year, is particularly significant for Georgia.

“I thanked the minister for support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. I hope that Belgium will be one of the countries, which will loudly and strongly support Georgia’s European integration,” he said.

In Tbilisi, Georgia, Hadja Lahbib will be also hosted by President Salome Zourabichvili. Belgian FM will visit the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) and the memorial of heroes who died in the fight for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
