FM: Georgia's foreign policy orients to balanced relations

In relations with neighbouring countries, Georgia’s foreign policy focuses on balanced partner relationships and mutually benevolent and practical cooperation, said Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili when reporting to the parliament within Minister’s Hour format.

Ilia Darchiashvili said the Georgian government’s main objective is maintaining peace and stability.

“Our goal is to promote peace, stability, good neighbourly relations and economic development in the region. This is one of our top priorities. Within the Peaceful Neighborhood Initiative, Georgia has taken effective steps towards a constructive dialogue between two neighbour countries. We reiterate readiness to continue engagement since we believe Georgia has a natural role in the region for ensuring peace and stability,” he said.
