“We discussed the importance of stability in the region. Georgia is closely following the ongoing dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We welcome the peace agreement that, we hope, will be signed soon,” declared Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili at a joint briefing with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to Maka Botchorishvili, Georgia is genuinely interested in strengthening peace and stability in the region.

“We have always said and will repeat again, Georgia is genuinely interested in strengthening peace and stability in our region. We are pleased that on April 17, we had the opportunity to host a trilateral meeting. This was the inaugural meeting of its kind, bringing deputy ministers from all three countries together in Tbilisi to discuss regional issues. We believe we have the potential to continue cooperation between all three countries in this format.

The regional developments are indeed crucial. Cooperation and partnership between our countries are especially significant in this context. We can view the current geopolitical landscape as an opportunity to expand collaboration with other regional nations, while safeguarding the interests of Georgia and Azerbaijan. This approach allows us to better leverage the potential our countries possess in this evolving environment.

Once again, thank you very much for the visit. I hope we will meet again this year, that we will have more opportunities to cooperate intensively and discuss all issues related to the friendship, partnership, and cooperation between our two countries, and the better use of this cooperation in the regional context,” declared Maka Botchorishvili.
