FM: EU and NATO integration depends on both, not unilateral efforts

“Integration into the European Union and NATO largely depends on the positions of both NATO and the European Union. It is wrong to present this process unilaterally,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili.

According to her, Georgia has done everything to accelerate the process of integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

“First of all, we must say that Georgia has done everything to accelerate the integration process into European and Euro-Atlantic structures and, in general, politically, to complete this process successfully. This is, of course, a two-way process.

When discussing our country’s integration into the European Union and NATO, it is important to recognise that the process largely depends on the positions of both organisations. It is incorrect to view this as a unilateral effort—Georgia’s progress is significantly influenced by the stances of the EU and NATO, not solely by our own actions,” said Botchorishvili.
