FM Darchiashvili says European partners properly assessed Georgian govt's efforts

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili says “Today is a truly historic day for our country, on the path of our country’s European integration.”

“The recommendation of the granting EU candidate status to Georgia is a huge and important step forward,” he went on.

“The procedure is not over yet. We are awaiting the European Council leader’s decision in December, which will result in the ultimate approval and the awarding of candidate status.

This is the result that our European partners properly assessed our efforts, the steps taken by the country, our government,” said Darchiashvili.
