FM Darchiashvili calls Norway 'close friend, reliable partner'

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday hosted his Norwegian colleague Anniken Huitfeldt, deeming her visit “a clear confirmation of Norway’s strong political support and solidarity.”

In a joint press point with Huitfeldt, Darchiashvili called Norway “a close friend and a reliable partner, with whom it shares common European values and interests for building a more peaceful, sustainable, and equal world.”

The Georgian Foreign Minister commended Norway for its robust support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In his speech, Darchiashvili also mentioned that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Norway.

The duo also reviewed “the important path” of Georgia’s accession to the European Union.

Anniken Huitfeldt has begin a four-day visit to Georgia and Armenia today.
