FM: Current statements made in Washington acknowledge our government's position
“Generally speaking, the statements and steps being taken today in Washington are a kind of continuation or acknowledgement of those facts and positions that we have been voicing for a very long time,” stated Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili while speaking with journalists about the U.S. decision to halt foreign funding.
According to her, the U.S. government’s decision relates to foreign country funding, including the issue of proper or improper use of donor funds in various countries’ internal politics.
“We, of course, were talking about our own country, about the negative role that various funders played in Georgia, and today we see that these same issues are being very actively discussed in Washington, and not just discussed, but concrete decisions are being made,” noted the Minister.
