FM Botchorishvili: We thank every nation that stood by Georgia and backed IDPs'right to safe, dignified, and unimpeded return
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has welcomed the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the resolution on Georgia.
“The UN General Assembly has adopted the resolution on the status of internally displaced people and refugees from Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region of Georgia with a record 107 votes in favour. We thank all states that stood with & supported the right of displaced persons to a safe, dignified and unhindered return,” Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili posted on the social media platform X.
The UN General Assembly has adopted the resolution on the ‘Status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia, and the Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, Georgia.’ A total of 107 countries supported Georgia’s resolution during the 2026 session.
