FM Botchorishvili: PM’s Singapore visit was important step in strengthening Georgia–Singapore ties

The Prime Minister’s visit was very important for the development of relations between Georgia and Singapore. During high-level meetings, the parties discussed strengthening political and economic ties, future areas of cooperation between the two countries, and ways to promote economic relations and political dialogue, Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said while assessing the Prime Minister’s visit to Singapore.

According to the minister, the meetings with her counterparts held as part of the visit were of particular importance, as they focused on opportunities to deepen cooperation and share experience.

“This visit was particularly important in terms of the meetings with fellow ministers. I had the opportunity to speak with my counterpart and discuss ways to strengthen political and economic ties between Georgia and Singapore. We also discussed sharing experiences, which is important for our future cooperation,” Maka Botchorishvili said.

According to her, the meetings also focused on the importance of strengthening regional cooperation.

“We also discussed strengthening regional ties. Singapore is an important partner for Georgia in terms of expanding relations with Asian countries. Likewise, Georgia is important for Singapore in strengthening its ties with our region. That is why the Prime Minister’s visit was an excellent opportunity and an important step toward strengthening relations between our two countries and regions,” the Foreign Minister said.
