FM Botchorishvili: Georgia and Singapore committed to expanding political and economic ties

“Georgia and Singapore share a clear interest in advancing cooperation through the deepening of both political and economic ties,” stated Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili following the Georgian Prime Minister’s high-level engagements with Singaporean leadership.

She noted that bilateral collaboration between the two nations would significantly foster interregional partnership.

“Today, the Prime Minister held constructive talks with both the Prime Minister and the President of Singapore. During these meetings with top officials, we explored opportunities to strengthen our political and economic relations,” Botchorishvili remarked.

“Both countries are keen to build upon this partnership, which naturally contributes to broader interregional ties. This is vital not only for Singapore, but also for Georgia’s strategic positioning within the South Caucasus and beyond,” the Foreign Minister added.

Maka Botchorishvili further highlighted the considerable scope for expanding cooperation, particularly through forging closer links between business communities.

“We reviewed the international cooperation agenda, the joint work between Singapore and Georgia within international organisations, and the potential to build on this framework alongside strengthening business and economic ties. There is undeniable potential to enhance our bilateral relations, and we must take active steps to realise it fully. Fostering closer business links is central to this effort, and this visit will be leveraged to that end, including scheduled meetings with key business representatives,” Botchorishvili added.
