Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili congratulated Georgia on qualifying for the UEFA EURO 2024.

As the FM remarked, being qualified for the Euro 2024 is “a fair and logical continuation of the EU candidate status.”

“What a historic win! Congratulations, Georgia! Congratulations and hats off to our national football team on this triumph and absolutely thrilling victory! A huge thank you for your dedication and hard work and for making the entire nation proud! Being qualified for the Euro 2024 is a fair and logical continuation of the EU candidate status,” he said.

On March 26, Georgia’s national football team won a ticket to the 2024 UEFA Euro this summer in Germany by beating Greece with a score of 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

Georgia will debut at the European Championship with its first match scheduled against Turkey on July 18 in Dortmund.
