FM: Azerbaijan relations key to Middle Corridor development prospects
“Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner for Georgia. In particular, when discussing the development prospects of the region within the Middle Corridor, relations with Azerbaijan are of special significance. In this context, truly important agreements were signed today,” said Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
According to the Minister, it is essential for Georgia to fully utilize its transit potential.
“In addition to issues related to transit potential, Azerbaijan’s decision to resume passenger rail services between the two countries is also significant. This is important for both Georgian and Azerbaijani citizens, and it will substantially strengthen people-to-people relations. Georgia’s transit potential is of interest not only to countries in our region but also beyond it. The growing potential of the African continent is also noteworthy, and it is important that we use these opportunities effectively. In this context, it was, of course, a good opportunity to meet with the President of Kenya,” Botchorishvili said.
