First University Clinic: Gunshot Rizhvadze’s condition remains serious yet stable, with no negative dynamics
According to Levan Ratiani, Director of the First University Clinic, the health status of Tornike Rizhvadze, the former Chairman of the Government of Adjara, remains serious yet stable at this stage.
“The patient’s overall condition remains serious yet stable, with no negative dynamics thus far. All tests outlined in the protocol are being conducted, and consultations with medical specialists across various fields are ongoing. His condition reflects the severity of his injuries,” Ratiani stated.
Tornike Rizhvadze was admitted to Sagarejo Geohospital following a gunshot wound on July 7. He was subsequently transferred to the First University Clinic for specialised care. An investigation into Rizhvadze’s case has been launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to incitement to suicide.
Additionally, Aleksi Akhvlediani, head of the Maritime Transport Agency, has been detained as a suspect in connection with the case. Akhvlediani is being held under Article 238 of the Criminal Code, which addresses negligent storage of a firearm.
