“Our commitment to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remains firm,” Finland’s Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Elina Valtonen, stated.

According to Valtonen, the OSCE has strengthened its cooperation with civil society through formats such as the Geneva International Discussions and the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM).

“In the South Caucasus, I witnessed positive development in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In August, we reached a consensus to close the Minsk structures dealing with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, a vital step that supported the peace process and cleared a major obstacle to adopting the OC budget. In Georgia, our commitment to sovereignty and territorial integrity remains firm. Through the Geneva International Discussions and Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, we advanced engagement with civil society and explored water diplomacy. My visit also addressed democratic backsliding and the essential role of civil society and the freedom of the people,” Valtonen stated.
