Fines for noise violations to be revised

10:32, 04.09.2023

Proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Violations, which aim to revise the fines for exceeding permissible noise levels, will be presented at today’s Bureau.

Under the proposed changes, individuals who exceed noise limits in residential houses, privately owned real estate, or public institutions will face fines.

The initial fine for individuals will be GEL 150, while legal entities and individual entrepreneurs will face the GEL 1500 penalty for the same violation. Repeated offences would result in higher fines, with individuals facing GEL 500 for repeated violations and legal entities and individual entrepreneurs GEL 5000.

The draft law also stipulates that subsequent offences by the same individual would lead to higher fines, reaching GEL 1000 for individuals and GEL 10,000 for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

The proposed amendments are in response to an increase in noise-related offences.
