The Festival of short films will be held on May 8-12 in Kutaisi. “Hari Harale Mother,” the film by Leo Gabriadze, will open the Festival at Lado Meskhishvili State Drama Theater on May 8. Films of Mikheil Kobakhidze and Eldar Shengelaia will be displayed during the festival.
According to Kutaisi Films Festival General Director Nino Mkheidze, fifteen films will participate in the competition, including three Georgian. The winners will receive the Gold Dinosaur award. The prizes will be awarded in various nominations. The festival will be held annually in the autumn effective next year.
“Kutaisi has a long history of Georgian film. Many films were produced in this city. Many film directors worked here,” said Gaga Chkheidze, Director of the National Cinema Center.
The festival will be held following Covid-19 pandemic regulations. Attendance is free this year.
