Family Purity Day marked by processions in Ten Georgian cities on May 17
According to the Georgian Orthodox Church, nationwide gatherings and processions marking the Day of Family Purity and Respect for Parents will be held on May 17 in ten cities across Georgia.
The Patriarchate said gatherings in all ten cities will begin at 10:00 a.m., while the public processions will start simultaneously at 11:00 a.m.
The events will take place in the following locations: Rustavi – City Hall; Kutaisi – Agmashenebeli Cathedral; Gori – Resurrection Cathedral; Batumi – Cathedral; Akhaltsikhe – Ascension Church; Zugdidi – Dadiani Cathedral; Telavi – Church of the Virgin Mary; Mtskheta – Teatroni and Ozurgeti – Cathedral.
The gatherings and processions are being held with the blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio III.
The Patriarchate also stated that on May 17, Shio III will lead his first festive liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, attended by delegations from various churches.
