Fadi el Abdallah – Russia and de facto authorities do not cooperate with investigation
Russia and de facto authorities do not cooperate with investigation but Fatou Bensouda, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), is ready to arrive at site if this helps the ongoing investigation – Fadi el Abdallah, Spokesperson and head of the public affairs unit at ICC and a member of ICC delegation visiting Georgia stated at a press conference.
According to Fadi el Abdallah, cooperation of all sides involved in the conflict would be beneficial to the court since this would give them the possibility to present their standpoints and pieces of evidence. He also commented about the ongoing investigation.
“Unfortunately, I cannot say anything new about the investigation which is confidential. Until the court has progressed, you will not be able to see the results. . . . It is hard to determine how long it will take the investigation and we do not want to make expectations,” Fadi el Abdallah said.
The delegation of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is visiting Georgia. The ICC is probing into August 2008 Georgia-Russia war.
