External merchandise trade goes up by 29.1%

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 1 461.8 million in 2023, 29.1% higher year-on-year, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.

The value of export increased by 38.5% reaching USD 459.0 million, while the import increased by 25.2% and amounted to USD 1 002.9 million.

The trade deficit equalled USD 543.9 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 37.2%.
