External Merchandise Trade 37% up YOY in Georgia

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 6 913.3 million in January-May 2022, 37.0 percent higher year-on-year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) has said.
The value of export increased by 36.2 percent reaching USD 2 091.9 million, while the import increased by 37.3 percent and amounted to USD 4 821.4 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 2 729.5 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 39.5 percent, the agency noted.
