Export records in first half of the year, Deputy Economy Minister says
The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Vakhtang Tsintsadze, announced that the first half of the current year has seen record export values, contributing significantly to economic growth.
Foreign trade preliminary results show export has increased by 19%. The National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reports that export reached USD 3,050.4 million, reflecting a 19.2% increase.
Tsintsadze stated that the External Merchandise Trade for January-June 2023 amounted to USD 10,266.2 million, representing 20.1% growth compared to the previous year.
“The Georgian government prioritizes export promotion, export diversification, and local production development. Several state programs have been implemented to enhance local entrepreneurs’ competitiveness, which has yielded significant tangible results, as evidenced by statistical indicators”, the Deputy Minister added.
