The National Archives of Georgia is hosting an exhibition featuring the spiritual, social and national activities of late Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
Georgian Minister of Justice Paata Salia opened the exhibition.
The exhibition pavilion features two vestments temporarily donated to the archive by the Patriarchate of Georgia. One of them was worn by Ilia II on Enthronement Day, December 25, 1977, and the other was worn by the late Patriarch during sermons until the end of his life.
The exhibition presents photo materials preserved in the National Archives of Georgia and family archives.
Ilia II visited the National Archives three times.
The exhibition aims to once again remind the public of the special role of the Patriarch in the spiritual, cultural and public life of Georgia.
The Exhibition Pavilion of the National Archives will be hosting the exhibition until the end of May. Entrance is free.
