Ex-president’s lawyer says communication problems solved

Problems related to communication with ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili are solved, said jailed third president’s lawyer Dimitri Sadzaglishvili following the meeting with his defendant.

The lawyer said he is allowed to communicate with the ex-president in the form that excludes recording the conversation by the State Security Service. Also, he now has the opportunity to exchange letters with Mikheil Saakashvili.

Since the problem is solved, Saakashvili annuls his previously announced protest, rejecting to meet with medical council members, take health surveys and medication, the lawyer informed.

Earlier on Thursday, the jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili published on Facebook that he was shortened the communication with lawyers with a glass wall fully built in a meeting room, thus depriving them of document exchange.

Ex-president further informed that from today, he categorically rejected any health survey, treatment and reanimation services related to his hunger strike that would continue until he regains right to unhindered relations with defence.

Law enforcers arrested Mikheil Saakashvili in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on October 1 and sent him to N12 Rustavi prison. Ex-president has been on a hunger strike since the very first day of his arrest.
