Jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili said that he refuses to take any juices, minerals and vitamins that served to sustain his organism’s vital functions from today to exclude any speculations about his hunger strike.

Mikheil Saakashvili responded to the government on Facebook saying he underwent surgery on his stomach 5 years ago and he could eat well and had good appetite. He clarified that he drank several bottles of juice at the recommendation of the prison’s medical department on October 30.

“Aggravation of my health state will be inevitable in any minute or several days at maximum. My health condition turned to the worse and the administration called several specialists from outside.

For me it is evident that Putin and Ivanishvili want my death and they are close to that target. Now my hope is Georgian people’s solidarity, humanity and civic standpoint. Long live to freedom,” Saakashvili said.

Law enforcers arrested Mikheil Saakashvili in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on October 1. He has been on a hunger strike since the very first day of his arrest.
