Ex-president Saakashvili: Under our leadership and powered by Nanuka’s energy, UNM will reclaim its status as a leading political force

“Under the leadership of myself, Levan, and other seasoned fighters, and with the aid of Nanuka’s relentless energy and ideas, the United National Movement will soon reassert its status as the country’s leading political force and lead Georgia to victory,” former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on social media.

According to him, the Reform Board must be composed exclusively of non-party individuals.

“Tomorrow is the United National Movement congress, which will elect interim governing bodies and establish the Reform Board. The Reform Board must be formed exclusively of non-party individuals; I head this board, with Nanuka serving as Executive Secretary, possessing my full support. We need a non-partisan composition so that we can evaluate the changes required within the movement from the outside and deliver precise recommendations, free from subjective considerations.

The temporary administration will operate for six months until the Reform Board delivers its final recommendations. The current leadership must be fully represented within it, regardless of any disputes or personal differences. The public expects results from us, not personal emotions. Therefore, resolving disputes on television and social media is incomprehensible and unacceptable to me. Let us all take an example from Levan Khabeishvili, who always places the interests of our common struggle above personal matters. That is what a true patriot and politician ought to be.
