EU's Borrell highlights polarization risks in Georgia amidst impeachment
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, made remarks on the President’s impeachment issue. He described it as a risk that could exacerbate political polarization in the country.
Borrell emphasized the importance of all institutions in Georgia working together to provide strong support for the country’s European path.
“Prime Minister, allow me to make an additional remark about the developments around the impeachment of the president. These risks further increase the counterproductive polarization, and I think that all institutions of the country have to work together, providing strong support to the European path.
Georgia has the potential to achieve success. You have a robust administration. You have a vibrant civil society. This is what you need in order to succeed in this historical moment,” the High Representative stated.
