The parliamentary opposition European Socialists party joins the memorandum signed between the opposition Citizens and the ruling Georgian Dream parties. The party chairman Fridon Injia has signed the document on Monday.
“We are ready to participate in the drafting of legislative amendments related to electoral reform to improve the electoral environment and ensure the competitive environment for the next elections,” reads the statement released by the European Socialists party.
The opposition Citizens and the ruling Georgian Dream parties signed a memorandum on January 29. The signatory political parties declare that they will take an active part in the parliamentary work, ensure and facilitate the drafting and adoption of a legislative package related to electoral reform by the parliament. After reaching the agreement, opposition MPs from Citizens party Aleko Elisashvili and Levan Ioseliani decided to enter parliament.
