European perspective 'big opportunity', German Ambassador says

New German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, on Wednesday, said, European perspective for Georgia is a “big opportunity”.

“The European Council, heads of state and government of the European Union decided that Georgia will have a European perspective and that’s really a very important, great thing and a big opportunity for both of us, for Georgia and the EU, including Germany,” Fischer told media outlets.

The Ambassador pledged support for Georgia saying “we will support Georgia in walking along this path [towards candidate status].”

“The path is clear, the first step is the 12 recommendations, and we will do it together. Georgia will do its part, but we will support Georgia in walking along this path and more we do together, the more we take the concrete steps and realize concrete projects together,” he asserted.
