European Integration Committee Chair: Our partners value Georgia's achieved progress
“Our partners value the progress, which Georgia reached in recent years,” said Maka Botchorishvili, Chairwoman of the parliamentary European Integration Committee.
According to Maka Botchorishvili, Georgia’s strategic partners, the U.S. and EU support significant issues for Georgia such as territorial integrity and the country’s European future.
“Both issues are reflected in the joint declaration and, of course, we welcome it. Georgia’s aspirations and wishes will not be implemented if we do not have sufficient support from our partners.
Georgia’s integration into the EU and NATO is linked to the implementation of reforms. Georgia is committed to the taken obligations as per the international agreements and relationship with partners that creates a solid basis to take further steps toward EU integration,” she said.
The U.S.-EU Summit adopted a joint statement on October 20. “We remain fully committed to supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and its European perspective,” it says.
