European Commissioner: We agreed to speed up implementation of Economic and Investment Plan
“We continue to support Georgia on its EU path,” said Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement.
“Today, at The 8th meeting of the EU-Georgia Association Council, we discuss the next phase after the December 2023 European Council decision. The 9 steps set out in the 2023 Enlargement Report recommendations need to be addressed. We continue to support Georgia on its EU path,” he tweeted.
According to the European Commissioner, it was agreed to speed up the implementation of the Economic and Investment Plan.
“During our discussion, we agreed with Georgia to speed up the implementation of our Economic and Investment Plan. Our connectivity agenda has huge potential to improve the lives of many living on both sides of the Black Sea,” he said.
The 8th meeting of the EU-Georgia Association Council kicked off in Brussels, Belgium. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze leads the Georgian delegation.
