EUMM head welcomes temporary opening of crossing points for Easter holiday

Bettina Patricia Boughani, the head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia, welcomes the temporary opening of the  Odzisi and Karzmani crossing points for the Easter holiday.

The EUMM shared this statement on the social media platform X.

“I welcome the temporary opening of the Odzisi and Karzmani crossing points on the Orthodox Easter, from 3-6 May. This will enable people on both sides of the Administrative Boundary Line to reunite with their families and visit religious sites.

The co-facilitators of the Ergneti IPRM format continue to advocate for the full reopening of all crossing points.

Freedom of movement restrictions have a negative impact on the daily life of the conflict-affected population,” the statement reads.
