“The high-level visit to China will be a starting point for deepening economic relations and partnership,” Maka Botchorishvili, Chairwoman of the parliamentary European Integration Committee, told the GPB’s First Channel.

According to Maka Botchorishvili, China is a key player globally with a fast-growing economy.

“When speaking about Georgia’s geopolitical role and boosting this role, in this context, cooperation with important partners in different geopolitical areas has to be highlighted. The high-level visit to China will be a starting point for deepening economic relations and partnerships that serves Georgia’s interests to become a more important player in the region and use our geographical location as the benefit instead of a hindering factor for our country,” she said.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili pays a working visit to China. The PM met with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan province.
