Maka Bochorishvili, Chair of the European Integration Committee, is optimistic about a positive decision from EU member states regarding Georgia’s candidate status. She highlighted Georgia’s fulfillment of the 12 recommendations and stressed the broader significance of this decision for the region’s geopolitical situation.
Referring to the final statement of the EU summit in Brussels, Bochorishvili stated that it reaffirms the unanimous support of all EU member states for the integration of Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova into the EU, emphasizing the need for necessary reforms.
Looking ahead to the December meeting of EU member states, Bochorishvili expressed hope for the continuation of the positive stance seen in the summit’s document. She underlined the decision’s importance not only for Georgia but also for the broader regional and geopolitical context.
“This decision is important not only for Georgia, but also for the region in general, the geopolitical situation, to continue moving on the path of the EU integration,” she added.
