EU High Representative: Georgia can not be in bi-polarization preventing government from working
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borell believes EU mediation must continue because the political tensions in Georgia prevent the government from working. Borell said during a press conference following the Foreign Affairs Council on 22 March 2021.
“The mediation effort has not been finished, it will continue. We need to continue supporting the process. We need to continue mediating because Georgia can not be in bi-polarization that prevents the government from working. The country needs stability in order to face the important reforms that they have to do. So we continue this mediation. We call for all political parties in Georgia to take this responsibility in order to about the interests of the Georgian people and have the political agreement needed to face the important challenges they have in front of them,” Josep Borell said.
