EU-Georgia Association Council meeting slated for 6 September

The 7th meeting of the EU-Georgia Association Council will take place in Brussels on 6 September, starting at 18:00, European Council reported on Friday.

The meeting will be chaired by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili. The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will lead the EU delegation.

According to the official readout, the Association Council will discuss EU-Georgia’s relations, against the background of its EU membership application, with a focus on political dialogue and reform, economic and sectoral cooperation, trade and trade-related matters, and peaceful conflict resolution.

During a restricted session, EU and Georgia’s representatives will exchange views on foreign and security policy, notably regional issues.
