EU ministers for foreign affairs are about to discuss Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
Before the meeting, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, said, “we have not only put in place micro-financial assistance of 1.2 billion euros, but we have already paid half of it. So, 600 million euros is already with Ukraine.”
He continued: “We want to help them to bring food, shelter, help to the people, but also to continue with the reforms, to continue with their resilience.”
“We also started dispersing 120 million euros for reform projects, there is done on Friday. And of course, we started working on delivering an opinion on the paces of the application of the membership for Ukraine.
This is something that the President Ursula von der Leyen and President Zelenskyy discussed on Friday and we have launched the process and we will work as fast as we can,” the EU Commissioner noted.
