EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi echoed signing the EU-South Caucasus Green Energy Partnership deal. He said he was happy to “see plans coming true.”

As part of our €17b Eastern Partnership today EU-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Romania-Hungary sign the MoU on the implementation of Black Sea energy submarine cable. As we connect for the benefit of all, we bring mutual economic and social benefits. Europe delivers!,” the EU Commissioner tweeted.
The EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi revealed on December 12 that the EU will allocate EUR 17 billion for the economic and investment plan of the Eastern Partnership (EaP), including EUR 2.3 billion aimed at creating the Black Sea strategic submarine electricity cable between Georgia and the EU.
Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania, and Hungary signed the Black Sea submarine electricity cable project in Bucharest, Romania, on Saturday.
