EU Ambassadors to discuss Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova applications, EU Integration Committee Chair says

The applications of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova will be discussed for the first time today at the meeting of the EU member state ambassadors in Brussels. Maka Bochorishvili, EU Integration Committee Chair stated.

“It is an important meeting. Probably, the member states have already outlined the positions over the issue. You know that we need the consent of all 27 member states to move forward in terms of EU membership. If the status of the candidate country is granted, it means that we are moving to a completely new stage in relations with the EU, which means that we should already think and start negotiations on EU accession. It is a rather difficult and long process. It will depend on Georgia and its reforms as well as on the support of our partner countries and their readiness to have a further expansion with Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova,” said Bochorishvili.
