EU Ambassador stresses need to implement EC's 12 points constructively and inclusively
“EU leaders will discuss the progress of Georgia and other enlargement countries at the end of next year. There is still time, but I know that the Georgian side has self-imposed a very ambitious timeline and that the work is currently ongoing on the implementation of the 12 priorities in parliamentary committees,” EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, stated on Thursday.
Herczynski emphasised the need to implement the EC’s 12 principles constructively and inclusively with all stakeholders engaged.
“We are monitoring this process very closely. There is still time because according to the calendar, we will assess the implementation only in the spring of next year. The opinion of the European Commission is expected only in October next year, and then our leaders, European Council, will discuss the progress made by Georgia and by all other enlargement countries towards the end of next year. So there is still time, but I know that the Georgian side has self-imposed a very ambitious timeline and that the work is currently ongoing on the implementation of the 12 priorities in parliamentary committees,” he said.
The Ambassador wished for “this process to take place inclusively and constructively with the involvement of all stakeholders.”
