EU Ambassador says vibrant civil society backbone of any democracy
EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski visited the office of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, the Ambassador told reporters that the EU supports civil society organizations in Georgia.
We just had a very interesting meeting, a very important conversation with GYLA, a civil society organization that the European Union supports. GYLA is helping the most vulnerable people, especially those who need legal assistance and GYLA is also active in local electoral observation.
As the European Union, we have been supporting and we will support GYLA and we will support all civil society organizations of Georgia because civil society, vibrant civil society is one of the backbones of any democracy,” he said.
