EU Ambassador says Saakashvili's rights must be respected

According to EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, the European Union is closely monitoring Georgia’s ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s health.

Herczynski believes that Saakashvili’s rights need to be protected.

“We are monitoring the health condition of ex-president Saakashvili very closely. We are in touch with his family, and we are also raising the issue of his rights with the Georgian authorities. It is very important that his rights are truly observed. Of course, it is up to the court of Georgia to decide about his future,” the EU Ambassador said.
