EU Ambassador says Public Defender's Office plays important role

The European Union has always supported and continues to support the Office of Public Defender, which plays a “very important role” in Georgia, said EU Ambassador to Georgia Pawel Herczynski.

“The office of the Public Defender has a very important role to play. Its role is described in the Georgian Constitution. As the European Union, we were and are supporting the office of the Public Defender. This office plays a very important role when it comes to making sure that human rights, especially, the rights of the most vulnerable communities in Georgia are well protected,” he said.
