“MEP Viola von Cramon is an individual member of the European Parliament. She decides where she goes and to what places,” said EU Ambassador in Georgia Paweł Herczyński.
The EU Ambassador remarked on joining the protest held to support Lazare Grigoriadis, a young man who threw Molotov Cocktails at law enforcers during the March 7-9 rallies against the so-called Foreign Agents law by the MEP.
The Ambassador commented on the argument of the ruling team, saying that such a move by an MEP deepened polarization in the country.
“Madam Viola von Cramon is an individual member of the European Parliament. She is free to come here to Georgia. She decides where she goes and to what places, so I have nothing to comment,” the EU Ambassador said.
MEP Viola von Cramon arrived at the April 1 protest organized by the European Georgia party at the Government Administration. She told reporters she came in solidarity with the young man detained at the March protests in Tbilisi.
