EU Ambassador to Georgia Pawel Herczynski hopes for much progress on EC’s 12 priorities but notes that everything is “in the hands of Georgians” and the 27 EU member states.
“As I repeatedly said, there is some time before the European Commission issues an enlargement report on Georgia in October and before the decision of the 27 EU member states at the highest political level, at the level of prime ministers and presidents.
We sincerely hope that as much progress will be made on the 12 priorities as possible. And, we also, to be frank, very much need only good news coming out of Georgia. I sincerely hope that everything will end up well, but it is in the hands of Georgians themselves, and the final decision belongs to the 27 EU member states,” he said.
