EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell says it is necessary to strengthen trust in justice, increase transparency and accountability.
EU Ambassador spoke about the Judiciary Support Project saying that “this project is a demonstration of the investment that the EU has been doing over the years when it comes to building stronger and more accountable institutions here in Georgia.”
“And I am very satisfied with many of the results that have been achieved over the years. At the same time, I will stress in the room the need to further build on these achievements and make sure that further transparency and trust are being built in the judiciary and wider rule of law area and for that, the 19 April Agreement clearly serves as the road map and work plan which we are hoping, expecting now all sides in Parliament and other stakeholders to take hard in advance further to make sure that further accountability, further transparency, and further trust is being brought into the rule of law sector, which is what this country needs and citizens deserve,” Carl Hartzell underscored.
