The National Environmental Agency has issued a warning about deteriorating weather conditions expected across the country.
According to the agency, from the evening of October 12 through the end of October 13, rain is expected in most regions of Georgia, with some areas likely to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and occasional strong winds. The statement also notes the possibility of hail in parts of eastern Georgia and 3–4 point storm surges along the Black Sea coast.
The agency cautions that the anticipated precipitation may lead to a significant rise in water levels in Georgian rivers, flash floods in smaller rivers, and the activation of landslides and mudflows in hilly and mountainous areas. The overall danger level is assessed as medium, the statement said.
