Energo-Pro Georgia: Intensive restoration of damaged power grid underway in Western Georgia

The technical service of Energo-Pro Georgia has restored part of the high-voltage power lines damaged as a result of the recent natural disaster, the company reported.

According to the information, out of 265,000 subscribers in Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi, electricity is currently being supplied with restrictions to approximately 40,000 subscribers. In Samegrelo, restrictions remain in place for about 20,000 subscribers out of a total of 142,000.

“In total, due to the natural disaster, around 5% of Energo-Pro Georgia subscribers are currently experiencing restricted electricity supply. Emergency response work is ongoing. Despite difficult access conditions, the company’s local and operational technical teams from various regions have been deployed to the affected areas, where intensive restoration efforts are underway,” the statement said.

The company noted that the severe weather caused a significant number of outages in both high- and low-voltage electricity networks across western Georgia. Restoration work will continue until the electricity supply is fully restored.
