Emergency Management Service warns of heat-linked fires

High temperature and wind in the mountainous areas in Georgia are expected to hold out in the coming days, surging the risk of forest and field fires, the Emergency Management Service warned on Monday.

Citizens were advised not to light fires near forests or fields, and not to leave fire pits unattended.

In the event of smoke or fire, the agency urges citizens to show civic responsibility by dialling 112, the Emergency Response Centre.
