Egyptian citizen arrested in Tbilisi for possessing a large quantity of Marijuana
Police officers from the Abkhazia Autonomous Republic Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested an Egyptian citizen in Tbilisi on charges of illegally purchasing and possessing an especially large quantity of narcotic drugs and facilitating their distribution, the Interior Ministry said.
According to the ministry, officers searched the suspect and his backpack, seizing approximately four kilograms of marijuana as evidence.
Investigative measures also led to the seizure of materials allegedly intended for packaging narcotic substances.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260⁴ of Georgia’s Criminal Code. The alleged offenses are punishable by up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment, the ministry said.
