Education Minister meets Hungarian Interior Minister

Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, who is on an official visit to Budapest, was hosted by Hungarian Minister of Internal Affairs Sándor Pinter, who oversees the general education sector.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, during the bilateral meeting, Givi Mikanadze expressed gratitude to Sándor Pinter for his support and highlighted the long-standing, close, and fruitful partnership between Georgia and Hungary.

The discussion focused on supporting teachers’ professional development, ensuring safe and inclusive school environments, integrating modern technologies into education, and sharing experiences in these areas.

“The parties also addressed strengthening fundamental subjects at the general education level, developing modern infrastructure, and offering flexible financing mechanisms. Givi Mikanadze presented Hungary’s Minister with the ongoing general education reform in Georgia, which aims to provide schools with value-based learning content, systematic and renewable educational resources, a diverse school culture, and continuity across educational levels. Sándor Pinter positively assessed the reforms and noted that the new educational policy represents an important step forward for Georgia. Both sides agreed to establish a working group to regularly discuss key issues in general education within the framework of bilateral cooperation. They also expressed readiness to implement joint educational projects, and Givi Mikanadze invited Sándor Pinter on an official visit to Georgia,” the Ministry said.
